ORATICLE (SOROGBAYI) is an English and Yoruba public speaking competition aimed at refocusing the minds of young people towards bringing up solutions to societal and national challenges.
In 2017, the first edition of the competition focused on the theme: “Good leaders, Good Followers ‘’ with the finalists making presentations on the topic: “ If I were the next Governor of Osun, what will be my priorities? ‘’ BARAKAT ADELAYO ADEPOJU – an entrepreneur, emerged as the first ever WINNER of ORATICLE out of 5 Finalists.
The second edition of the competition with the theme: “Contest of Ideas” –focused on young people presenting an idea or project directed towards creating solutions or opportunities within Osun State.
VICTOR BALOGUN- a development worker won the second edition of Oraticle out of 10 Finalists and he was given the grant to support his Idea of training youths within Egbedore Local Government on planting, harvesting, packaging, and selling (Rice Value Chain). The contestants were asked to present any workable idea in the following focal areas:
- Agriculture and Food Security
- Employment and Wealth Creation
- ICT and Technology
- Talent, Sport, Culture, and Tourism
- Civic Engagement and Good Governance
- Any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that have an impact on Africa.
